Optimize Your Blog For Search Engine With Dofollow Social Media

by TheWeblogZone on July 31, 2008

Building backlinks to your blog is one of the most powerful search engine optimization techniques but it only works when the links are DOFOLLOW. This means that the links pointing to your blog should not have the “nofollow” attribute otherwise, the links are useless.

social media sites

In my previous post, I compiled a list of Dofollow Blogs where you can leave your comments and earn yourself a link love. The other technique I shared is to edit PLR articles and submit them to article directories. Also, you can submit your posts to Dofollow Social Bookmarking Sites to build more backlinks to your blog.

Today, I compiled a list of Dofollow Social Media Sites that is guaranteed to increase backlinks to your blog and spare you enormous time googling. These Social Media Sites let you create an account and from there, link to your blog. The links to your blog from these public accounts are dofollow. Moreover, these dofollow social media sites are frequently crawled by search engines so your blog will be crawled more often as the search engines follow your link from these dofollow social media sites.

Dofollow Social Media Sites

If you know of a dofollow social media site that is not included in the list, do share them through the comment and I will be glad to include them in the list when I have this post updated.

As always, your comments and suggestions are most welcome. Thank you for your time. :)

Where To Sell Your Blog

by TheWeblogZone on July 30, 2008

Online Marketplace
One of the hottest trends online these days is to develop and sell blogs. I had my own experience selling my blog and I have to say that this has been a profitable make money online scheme and an easy way to raise finance for your other projects.

After selling BloggingMix (now redirected to WhyDoWork.com/blog), I received a couple of inquiries about how I managed to sell it and how did I reach my potential buyers.

In the coming days, I will be blogging about my experience in selling my blog. And in my final post on selling your blog, I will tell you how much did I sell BloggingMix to Matt of Whydowork.com. There have been alot of queries from curious bloggers about the selling price so I decided to finally reveal it. Watch out for my future posts for the details.

For today, I wish to share you some useful resources for bloggers who want to sell their blogs. These websites help facilitate the sale of your blog. These are also great places to find blogs, in case you want to buy one.

1. SitePoint Marketplace

SitePoint Marketplace is the meeting place for buyers and sellers of new or established blogs, templates, advertising services, hosting services, content, domain names among others. SitePoint is visited by thousands of potential buyers and sellers so it presents a good opportunity for you to promote your classified ads.

To place your classified ads, you need to register an account for free and buy the needed credits. The prices of their services vary depending on the level of exposure you wish to achieve with your advertisement. The fee is minimal and the result is fast depending on your marketing skills. Buying and link exchanging services are free.

2. Sedo

In it’s 7th year of operation, Sedo is one of the largest marketplace for premium domain names with over 11 million domain names to choose from. Other than that, Sedo lets you sell new and established blogs and promote you domain names. Their services are free but a 10% commission is charged once you have found a buyer for your product.

3. Ebay

With a huge user base, Ebay is an ideal place to sell your blog or any product you wish to auction. For the same reason however, you might come across scammers and fake bidders. Your clasified ads are indexed by search engines so you make sure you optimize it using appropriate keywords. This will drive more traffic to your auction and may increase the potential numbers of bidders.

Listing your blog for auction is free but Ebay charges a commission fee for every successful sale.

4. DigitalPoint

Digital Point Forum is another website with a huge user base that allows you to trade, buy or sell your blog, templates, services, domain, content among others. Their services are absolutely free and their iTrader helps you identify reliable and questionable buyers and sellers.

5. NamePros

NamePros primarily operates as a marketplace for premium domain names but it could also be used to promote your blog for sale. Since NamePros is a forum with a huge user base, you can expect alot of bids from their users. They even have live chatrooms where you can exchange words with potential buyers and sellers.

Like any other forums, you have to be a registered user before you can start using their free services.

6. Bloggeries

One of the fastest growing community of bloggers, Bloggeries forum lets you sell your blog, content, templates, services and other products for free. All it takes is for you to register an account before you can start using their free services.

Before you even think about selling your blog, looking for a place to sell them isn’t the first step to do. You first need to make sure that you’re really willing to sell and let go of your blog. My experience selling my first blog wasn’t a good experience, so make sure you’re really up to it. Also, you need to learn how to appraise you blog to avoid being taken advantaged. One of my succeeding post will provide you with more useful tips when selling your blog so make sure you come back for my updates or subscribe to my feed.

Like always, your comments are always welcome. Do share other places where you can sell blogs if you know some. Thank you for your time. :)

PerformancingAdsGood news to those who are looking for other ways to monetize their blogs. PerformancingAds went live last week and you are all invited to become part of their publisher or advertiser. PerformancingAds, an advertising network that ceased operation in 2006 due to a management restructuring, is now back in operation.

PerformancingAds

To be a publisher, you need to have a website. Register an account with PerformancingAds (it’s free) then upload and activate the PerformancingAds Wordpress Plugin. As long as you continue to improve your blog, you should be able to get advertisers for your blog.

PerformancingAds Advertisers

Advertisers should also take advantage of PerformancingAds. Especially that they are offering a $25 off from your order of $100 or more. Here are some good reasons why you should choose to advertise with PerformancingAds:

Lastly, PerformancingAds is also inviting you to join their Affiliate Program. Your ultimate job is to attract publishers and advertisers to sign up for an account at PerformancingAds. This could be done in a lot of way. But for sure, it’s all about strategy. The more you expose your affiliate link, the higher the income you earn. Here’s how their affiliate program works:

  • Earn $10 for each new publisher or advertiser you refer
  • Plus, earn 5% recurring revenue on all advertiser ad buys … for life.
  • Massive Potential:

Let’s say that you refer 2 new advertisers per month and each spends an average of $250 per month. Within 1 year, you’d be making a cool $300 per month in 100% passive income.

But wait. Let’s say that you referred 5 new advertisers per month. Now you’re talking over $750 per month after 1 year.

What are you waiting for? Go ahead and start Making Money With PerformancingAds or place your Targeted Blog Advertising With PerformancingAds and increase your sales. What do you think?

4 Considerations When Buying A Wordpress Theme

by TheWeblogZone on July 28, 2008

Maginifying Glass

Buying a premium Wordpress theme is the way to go when you get serious with blogging. However, with the numerous number of Wordpress designers out there, choosing the right theme for your blog becomes a challenging task. To be able to choose the right theme, it is essential that we understand what to look for in a Wordpress theme. Here are some of the most important things to consider when purchasing a Premium Wordpress Theme.

Search Engine Optimized Wordpress Theme

Is the Wordpress theme optimized for search engines? Is the designer of the Wordpress theme knowledgeable of SEO? A search engine optimized WordPress theme should have excellent search engine readability, must emphasize on content, pass HTML validation, should display post excerpts on archive and category pages, and do a lot more.

Wordpress Theme Should Support The Major Web Browser

In case you haven’t noticed, some Wordpress themes don’t work well with other internet browser. This is one thing you need to pay attention to as it could become a major turn off to your visitors. As the number of internet browsers grow, compatibility will always be an issue but at least you make sure that your Wordpress theme works well with the major internet browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.

Wordpress Theme Layout and Structure

A good Wordpress theme should have a good layout and structure. With layout I mean; it should have a user friendly interface and it should be easy to navigate. A good Premium Wordpress Theme should also have a pleasant layout, such that the color combination, font style, font size and over-all design should not become an impediment for your visitors to appreciate your content.

Updates and Support

Does the Wordpress theme designer offers updates and technical support? Think twice when support and updates are not part of the package. Take for instance Thesis Wordpress Theme, the one I’m using on my blog, Chris Pearson offers a lifetime free access of the future developments of his Theme. The updates and support serve as a warranty and assurance that you will have the best out of it.

What else do you think should one consider important when buying a Premium Wordpress Theme? Do share them in the comment.

Thank you for your time. :)

Why Buy And Use Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme

by TheWeblogZone on July 27, 2008

Check out the LATEST VERSION OF THESIS WORDPRESS THEME and find out the list of additional cool features that will enhance and improve your blogging experience!

Thesis WordPress ThemeWhen I started to take blogging seriously, the first thing I had in mind was to find the best Wordpress theme to match my blog. And I don’t just want any Wordpress theme. I wanted a Premium Wordpress theme for the reasons that most free Wordpress themes lacked search engine optimization, are not well designed and makes branding more difficult.

Because of the too huge selection of Wordpress theme available online that are claimed by their designers to be of top quality, choosing a Wordpress theme has become even more difficult. In my experience, I bought three Premium Wordpress Themes but ended up not using any of them. Instead, I found Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme designed by Chris Pearson and have used it ever since. After using it for quite awhile, I am most certainly satisfied with its positive impact on my blog.

What’s with Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme? What makes it different and powerful from from the rest? And why should you buy your own copy and use it in your blog?

Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme

Thesis Wordpress Theme

Thesis Premim Wordpress Theme is designed by the Wordpress god… Chris Pearson. His unparalleled expertise in Search Engine Optimization, which were taken into consideration while making Thesis, ensures that you’re getting only the best Wordpress theme for your blog.

After over a month of using Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme, I’ve noticed that my blog has a better search engine index rate (more pages are indexed by Google now). I’ve also started to receive a noticeable increase in the number of traffic from search engines. That’s when I realized the big difference of using a search engine optimized Wordpress theme.

Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme is very flexible and user friendly. You don’t have to be knowledgeable of html codes in order to use it. Its friendly interface and great design compliment each other to give your readers a pleasant experience with their every visit to your blog.

Free Thesis Life Time Upgrade And Helpful Support

Upon purchasing Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme, you will be entitled to a free lifetime access to future upgrades. This in itself is a cool deal because you don’t have to purchase a new Wordpress theme compatible to the latest Wordpress version. Other Premium Wordpress Themes don’t have upgrades. Fortunately for Thesis, the upgraded Thesis version is FREE and this deal lasts a lifetime. How’s that for a deal?

Want more reasons to buy the Thesis Wordpress Theme? Well, Thesis has got one of the most helpful SUPPORT. Chris has set up a Forum where Thesis users can ask for help in customizing and tweaking their Thesis theme. Through the forum, you can also add requests that you would like Chris to incorporate in the future Thesis updates.

Top 10 Forums For Bloggers

by TheWeblogZone on July 26, 2008

Joining and participating in forum is a great way to network with other bloggers and potential readers. Forums are a valuable source of traffic for your blog. And so, some bloggers advice you to join and participate in as much forum as you can but I beg to differ.

Time is gold and you’ve got better things to do than participate in forums. You need to make your posts, do some readings and research etc. This makes it impractical to spend a huge amount of your time participating in forums. If however, you’ve got all the time in the world, then joining and participating in as much forum as you can could be rewarding.

Instead of joining and participating to as much forum as you can, why don’t you settle for the best. Those that can really help you increase your blog traffic, subscriber and network. I did a little research and I came up with the “Top 10 Forums For Bloggers”.

Top 10 Forums For Bloggers

Forum For Bloggers

The Top 10 Forums are ranked according to daily traffic, number of members, number of posts in the forum and the topics they covered. Without further ado, here are the Top 10 Forums For Bloggers.

  5. v7n Web Development Forum

  7. Blog Traffic School Forum
  8. Blogging Tips Forum
  9. The Blog Experiment Forum

The Power And Benefits Of Link Love

by TheWeblogZone on July 25, 2008

You probably have heard Link Love before. To those who haven’t yet, a Link Love usually refers to unsolicited link to a website that you found interesting or relevant to your page. It’s called ‘LINK’ with a ‘LOVE’ because by linking to other websites, you are doing them a favor (i.e. Google Page Rank, Search Engine Ranking, Traffic, Technorati among others). But did you know that by linking to other websites, you are also doing yourself a favor?

Link Love

Yes, by linking to other websites, you are able to extend help to other bloggers and benefit from it as well. While it is true that linking to other blogs could result to a lower ranking of your pages, there are a few tips you can implement to avoid this from happening. (Tune in to my future posts as I share to you those useful tips.)

The 6 Benefits Of Link Love

Here are some of the benefits of ‘Link Love’ and why you should start giving some.

1. Link Love is a powerful networking strategy.

Networking is an essential element of blogging. It is through this that a blogger or webmaster is able to grow his website. One of the powerful networking strategies is ‘Link Loving’. A simple link love to another website could become a starting point of a good relationship with fellow bloggers or webmasters. This may result in a fruitful and mutually beneficial relationship.

2. Link Love increases your traffic.

Link Love is not only a powerful networking technique but at the same time a good strategy to increase your blog traffic. How? Simple. By linking to other websites, the webmasters are informed (pinged) and hence, would be curious to check out your website. That’s not much of a traffic, you might say, but wait until more benefits start to pour in.

3. Link Love is powerful maketing strategy.

One of the benefits you get from linking to other website, as mentioned above, is the benefit of being discovered… being known to others. Getting your blog discovered is oftentimes a difficult task especially when you’ve just started blogging. And you have the option to pay for advertisement or get it for free. Link Love is one of these free methods you can take advantage of. Linking to other websites will prompt their webmasters to check whe website who linked to them. As this happen, you get discovered. And, if your website offers relevant, interesting and useful information, you might get more than their attention.

4. Link Love attracts Link Love.

Indeed, Link Love attracts Link Love. A grateful webmaster for the link love you’ve given him is most certainly going to appreciate it through a link to your blog. May be not today but in his succeeding posts. Just make sure that your content is relevant to his website, otherwise it’ll be difficult for him to link back to you. That’s why it’s advisable that you link to websites with contents relevant to yours.

5. Link Love improves your credibility.

If your blog contains links to other relevant websites, your blog’s credibility improves. What does link love has to do with credibility? Apparently, it shows that you are doing extensive researches on your subjects or topics before you publish them on your blog. It also ensures that the information you share through your website can be trusted as it comes from different sources. Link love could be compared to references/bibliographies in a book. The more the reference the book has, the better its credibility.

6. Give more information to your readers through a Link Love.

It’s very difficult to explain your topic in a single page, hence, the need for you to link to other pages. Also, there are other bloggers who can explain a subject matter better than you do. It will be appreciated by your readers if you refer them to these well-explained posts. You don’t only spare yourself with another task but you also make your readers happier.

There you have it… But I’m sure you’ve got more to add. Why don’t you add them as a comment.

Thank you for your time. :)

Tips To Keep You Motivated In Blogging

by TheWeblogZone on July 24, 2008

motivated

Successful bloggers are generally those who keep themselves motivated to blog. Most of those who fail are those who lost interest and motivation to maintain and keep their blogs. It is therefore essential that you keep yourself motivated so as to be successful.

The problem is, how does one keep himself/herself motivated to blog? Here are some of my suggestions to help you keep motivated. These worked well for me, it should work for you too.

Discover Your Motivation

In order to be more successful in keeping yourself motivated to blog, you should be able to identify the factors that will keep you motivated. There are several motivating factors that keep bloggers motivated. Most bloggers are motivated because of the financial rewards of blogging or the potential fame that comes with it. Others are just contented of expressing their thoughts and opinions while some enjoy the attention and the opportunity to argue with other people. A small minority of the bloggers are motivated by the growing number of international friends they accumulate over the course of their blogging.

The only problem is when you forced yourself to blog, in which case, you don’t have a clear motive or you don’t have the right motive. Bloggers who don’t have good motives to blog or don’t have motives to blog usually end up failing. They end up unmotivated even before they start to see the result of their initial efforts, which could have been reinforced by simply continuing to blog. As a result, they abandon their blogs… their blogs die.

Useful Tips To Keep Your Motivations Alive

1. Identify your blogging goals and objectives. Make them clear and more specific.

Your goals and objectives give you a sense of direction. They remind you of the things you want to achieve. Without them, there’s no sense of fulfillment. While goals and objectives are helpful, they should be stated clearly to achieve the most benefits from them. Hence, an objective to increase your blog traffic from 100 to 300 is better than simply and objective to increase your blog traffic.

When setting your blog objectives and goals, remember to make them realistic. If you come up with very ambitious goals that you yourself doubt you’ll ever achieve them, you’ll just end up frustrated which will eventually lead to losing your motivation to blog. Also, it’s worth noting that you should not overwhelm yourself with goals and objectives. You should also consider having a long term and short term goals and objectives. These two sets of objectives have different impacts to your blogging but will ultimately lead to keeping your spirit high.

2. Monitor, evaluate and measure your progress.

Checking how far you’ve been with your goals and objectives helps you reflect on your strategies. You should be able to achieve some if not all your targets. Keeping a tab of your achievements will help boost your morale and will encourage you to be more motivated. It also brings a sense of pride and fulfillment. Assessing your progress is another way of making your strategies better because you are able to identify where you went wrong and do the necessary corrections.

It’s a good idea to keep a note of your goals and objectives and your performance to be able to effectively evaluate and measure your progress. Better yet, get some of your friends to do the evaluation. Their feedback should help you become better in blogging. There comments could be a mixture of positive and negative but in most cases, negative comments actually help someone to remain motivated.

3. Reward yourself. Tell others how much you’ve grown.

So you’ve made some good progress? Based from your notes, you were able to exceed your initial target. You deserve some reward. You can either broadcast your progress for everyone to read or buy yourself a box of chocolate. There are tons of ways to reward yourself… you’re a blogger so you should know lots of them.

4. Breakaway from your blogging routines. Try something new.

Routine activity is the main cause why most people loose their interest. You can observe this in your work place. The argument that accustoming yourself to a set of undertakings in a day and for the next days to come helps improve your efficiency is a big lie. It actually makes people (in the long run) less efficient because of boredom. Likewise, if you set yourself to do a set of routine while you’re blogging, soon you’ll lose your interest.

Breakaway from your blogging routines and try to do something new… something different (radical). If you do your post every morning, try doing it at night. If you feel that something (believed by many to be good) is not really good then you might want to go against the world. You will get lots of criticism but you will certainly spare yourself from getting bored from doing your blogging routines.

5. Identify your competitors and do your best to beat them.

What keeps me motivated to blog are my competitors. I have a set of blogs that I consider my competitors. As my competitors, I always work hard to outdo them in every aspect of blogging (i.e. traffic, Alexa, page rank, Technorati). I’ve been doing this since I’ve started blogging and so far, it has done nothing but to keep me motivated. Being able to beat them in certain aspects of blogging brings so much joy and encourage for me. It could have the same effects to you.

6. Embrace failures. Transform them as opportunities.

Failures are part of blogging. Darren Rowse, Chris G, Seth Godin name it, they all experienced failing. In fact, their ability to transform their failures to opportunities made them what they are today. As a blogger, you need to acknowledge failure as a natural part of your blogging adventure. More importantly, you should see them as an opportunity for you to grow and become better. How you do that starts from identifying the goodness of these failures and the determination not to commit them again.

What else do you think can help bloggers to keep their spirits high? I’m sure you’ve got some more to add. Do share them through the comments.

Thank you for you time. :)
