AdSense + Chitika – The Killer Combination That Will Raise Your Earnings

In a recent post here at TheWeblogZone, Rusmanica Tudor gave youÂ 6 Good Reasons to Use AdSense. I’m not surprised with what Rusmanica shared because AdSense trulyÂ is one of the bests and easiest ad networks out thereÂ that you can easily make money from (provided you have decent traffic).

But hey, there is always space for more right?Â What if you can increase your earnings without affecting AdSense? IsÂ that possible?

Yes, it is possible and I have done exactly that! How? Read on!

Make More Money Online WithÂ Chitika

Chitika is a one of a kind Pay Per Click ad network. Chitika ads display only to search engine traffic from United States and Canada. Ads are extremely targeted because Chitika matches the keywords that visitor uses to arrive on a page. This results in high Click Through Rate (CTR). For me, Chitika has delivered 10 times more CTR than AdSense! And that too without affecting AdSense revenue.

Another plus with Chitika is the low Payout. You get paid via PayPal after reaching $10.

Using Chitika With AdSense

Since Chitika ads only show upÂ to Search Engine Traffic, you might think that they will just hog space for other traffic. If you are thinking that, you are wrong. Chitika gives you the option to either collapse into nothing or display other ads.

Displaying other ads is what you should do if you want to retain AdSense earnings.

First, get your Google AdSense code from AdSense account. Next, open a notepad and paste your code into it. Place the following tags before code:

Similarly, place the following tags after AdSense code:

</html>

Save this file and then upload it to your server.

Copy the exact URL to the file. If you upload it to public_html folder, the address should be yourdomain.com/filename.

Go to Chitika and click “Get Code”. Select ad size in the next step. After this, you have to choose how Chitika will show up to non search traffic. Click the second option ( Show a different ad (such as Google Adsense) ) and enter the file address.

Follow next steps, grab your Chitika code and add it to your blog.

Tip: Chitika ads work best when near content, so it is best if you place them near content.

We have to follow the above procedures to make Chitika display AdSense to non search engine traffic. When Chitika detects a non search engine visitor, it will use an iFrame to display Google AdSense ad instead. This means that while your regular visitors will see AdSense ads, search engine visitors see Chitika ads.

This way, you will not lose any AdSense earnings but earn more through Chitika at the same time!

Tips to Maximize Chitika Earnings

Here are some more tips to maximize your Chitika Earnings:

Place Near Content: Chitika ads do not work well in sidebar and footer areas. You should place ads near content(below title/after content)
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Remember to optimize your blog so that you get more Search Engine Traffic. More Search Engine Traffic = More Earnings.
Bigger is Better: Chitika has recently introduced Mega Ad Units of size 550 x 120 pixels and 500 x 120 pixels. Some publishers have reported 4x CTR with these ad sizes.Â You should give them a try.

Great tip. I have heard of Chitika before but I did not know that they only displayed to search engine traffic. That is very cool, I will have to look into this.

i havent tried other ad network yet because of negative reviews of other networks and low payout offered per click. I think Adsense is the best and no other can takes its place but surely wud like to try other ad network on my sites.
wat do u say about Chitika payout ? have u received any payments from them ?

When search engine visitor comes, Chitika shows up and when it is regular visitor, AdSense will show up. Both at same spot(if you follow the above procedure!)

got an account with Chitika and will use this ads like u mentioned. I heard it first time about using ad network like this. Chitika ads displayed only to visitors coming from search engines otherwise it can display Adsense as well. gr8 suggestion. Thanx for sharing.

Chikitka does not show up any ads for the traffic coming thorough the web directories. But, if the visitor search within the directory then it will show up ads. The main point is that, visitor has to initiate search before hitting your website. That’s the main requirement of chikitka.

The big questions is, how many types of visitors are converted into money by Chhikita? What i have read is that Chikita will not pay, if the customers was surfing and click at chikita’s ad. So, they earn for all the customers and pay only for customers, coming through search engine.
