3 Characteristics Of A Good Logo

thinking, logo making tips

If you are particularly interested in branding your blog, then having your own customized header and logo is the way to go. You have the option of hiring the services of a professional graphic designer or you can make logos online using free online logo makers. These tools can help you create just about anything you want a logo to be (i.e. free customized animated logo, free logos in different file formats, free online animated text etc.). There are also tons of both free and paid softwares online that are dedicated to online logo making.

Before you customize your header or start making your logo, here are a few pointers to remember when making a logo for your blog.

Your Logo Should Be Unique

Your logo is what sets you apart from your competitors and other blogs. Therefore, it is important that you make it unique. Creating a unique logo makes your blog easily recognizable by your readers and subscribers. It’s okay to be inspired by other established logos but make sure you don’t end up becoming almost a copycat. Remember that the first thing you need to know when creating your own logo is to be UNIQUE.

Your Logo Should Represent Your Blog

Uniqueness is not all you need to know about logo making. You should also remember that the logo you are making represents the product you want to associate with it, which in this case is your blog. Hence, if your blog is about body building (targeted to men), then it shouldn’t have a little swirly pink text logo. Instead, it should use a much bolder and darker typography. To have a logo that represents well your blog, you need to consider the shape, color, and every other element of design that plays a substantial part in how the viewer interprets it.

Your Logo Should Be Simple And Easily Recognizable

Simplicity is a complicated word to explain so allow me to use examples of logos that embodies simplicity: Nike, Apple, Mc.Donald’s and Mercedez Benz. Your objective of having a logo aside from setting your brand apart from the rest is to be easily recognized. To achieve this, having a simple design for your logo makes recognition easier. To make your logo simple it should be simple that it would be able to scale down to smaller sizes and still be recognizable. It should also be printed in a single color and still be recognizable. Lastly, it needs to be simple and recognizable enough that you can remember it.

You said it all, simplicity and uniqueness - the 2 keys to a good logo
I should also add that a logo should be easily remembered

To sum-up, a good logo should be:
    1) simple
    2) unique
    3) easily remembered

    Cheers!

Yes, completely agree with your suggestions in this post. A good idea is to look at what others have done for inspiration as well.
