GadgetAdvisor - Hardware, Software, Gadgets And Tech News

by TheWeblogZone on October 12, 2008

Gadget AdvisorAs part of my link building and networking strategy, I will be doing reviews of blogs from related niches (e.g. Blogging, Technology, SEO and Online Marketing) during weekends. Today, I have choosen to do a review for Gadget Advisor, a relatively new blog that is growing and becoming established rapidly.

About Gadget Advisor

Gadget Advisor was created with the purpose of covering product releases and news items that are most significant, useful and cool. It wasn’t intended to cover every bits of pieces of technology news everyday. Instead, Gadget Advisor focuses on the most useful information related to computer hardware, software, gadgets and technology. This ensures the readers and subscribers of Gadget Advisor that they get only the best information on computer and technology.

Here are examples of useful articles you find at Gadget Advisor:

  • Online Backup Services - An objective review of MozyPro, an online backup service provider. The review takes a look at the benefits of using MozyPro but also shares the potential problems that might be encountered like the capped transfer speed. Moreover, the review provides alternative online backup services (e.g. Intronis EsecureIT and IDrive). Bloggers and webmasters who want to know good choices for an online backup services should read this review.
  • Network Media Player - A product review of DViCo TViX M-6500A Network Media Player and its unique selling proposition. The review includes information on the potential problems with the network media player and its beneficial features.
  • Universal Remote Control - A product review of Logitech Harmony’s advanced universal remote control, its benefits and features.

Suggestions And Recommendations

Personally, I don’t see so much problems with Gadget Advisor. I believe that the design and layout are professionally done and match the blog’s topic. The most important element of a blog other than quality content (e.g. Social Media, RSS, Comment System, Contact Info ) are also present. My only suggestions are:

  • About Page - Although Gadget Advisor has an About Page, the information provided wasn’t enough. I believe that the information about the blog is important but the information about the blogger or bloggers behind the blog is also equally important. Gadget Advisor should therefore include information about the blogger behind it. The about page may also contain links to social networks where the blogger is a member. This can help build a larger network for the blogger that may bring benefits for the blog.
  • Log-In To Leave A Comment? - While I was browsing the pages of Gadget Advisor and was about to leave a comment on his post on Online Backup Services, I was prompted to log-in before I could comment. Although this is an effective measure to avert spammers, it might also annoy non-spammers who need to go through the inconvenience of registering before they can leave their comments.

How about you? What are your suggestions and recommendations for Gadget Advisor? Do share them in the comment.

Thank you for your time. :)
