Who says only painters, singers and actors need inspiration? As bloggers and artists at the same time, we need inspiration too. Like painters, singers and actors, inspiration helps us to produce masterpieces. Well, not exactly masterpieces but at least a decent post worthy of publishing on our blogs.
To get you inspired, I compiled a list of things I usually do when I’m in a state of “uninspiredness”, which is by the way, a normal experience for a blogger. I hope these tips help you. Don’t just take my word for it though, add your own tips in the comment.
- Turn on the radio and listen to some music. You can sing along.
- Open your feed reader and see what you’ll find.
- Get a cup of coffee.
- Read your blog. Read your old posts.
- Chat with other people. (Yahoo!, Skype, Gmail)
- Blog hop. (Blogcatalog and Mybloglog are good places to start.)
- Visit YouTube.com and watch videos.
- Visit Yahoo! and MSN. (They usually have all the latest and hottest stories.)
- Visit blogger forums.
- Check how many pages of your blog are indexed by Google.
- Visit Technorati. Check your latest inbound links.
- Change your blog theme / template. Customize your blog design.
- Count how much you’ve earned this month.
- Go out for a walk. Bring the dogs with you.
- Go to the gym.
- Open your email. Read. Delete spams.
- Bring your laptop to Starbucks. Blog as you drink your coffee.
- Ask your girlfriend / boyfriend for their advice. Spare grandma.
- Do some “Fault Finding”. There’s a lot in the Blogosphere.
- Clean the house. Cook. Wash your clothes.
- Sleep. Take a bath.
- Eat outside. Date your girlfriend.
- Spend time with your family.
- Feel free to do anything other than forcing yourself to write.
Actually, anything can be a source of inspiration. When you don’t feel inspired to write, the best thing to do is not to. What else am I missing?
Thanks for your time and don’t forget to leave your comments.
