Building backlinks to your blog is one of the most powerful search engine optimization techniques but it only works when the links are DOFOLLOW. This means that the links pointing to your blog should not have the “nofollow” attribute otherwise, the links are useless.
In my previous post, I compiled a list of Dofollow Blogs where you can leave your comments and earn yourself a link love. The other technique I shared is to edit PLR articles and submit them to article directories. Also, you can submit your posts to Dofollow Social Bookmarking Sites to build more backlinks to your blog.
Today, I compiled a list of Dofollow Social Media Sites that is guaranteed to increase backlinks to your blog and spare you enormous time googling. These Social Media Sites let you create an account and from there, link to your blog. The links to your blog from these public accounts are dofollow. Moreover, these dofollow social media sites are frequently crawled by search engines so your blog will be crawled more often as the search engines follow your link from these dofollow social media sites.

Flickr a long time ago became nofollow.
Building backlinks in blog is though very important but little complicated job ,i hope these guidelines will help me.
How about Stumble Upon, is it “do follow” or “no follow”?

Nice post! I have learned something from this post. I agree with you that Social Media sites help to increase Page Rank of a site through Backlinks. One of the top Social Media site is Digg. I was a member of Digg for sometime. But now, they have banned my account for submitting spam content. Could you have some opinion on how to unban my account from Digg? I have contacted them so many times, but it was useless.

@Amit: Just recently Digg also banned some members for using greasemonkey scripts. You can create a new account and try not to spam Digg as you said earlier
because I see reinstating a Digg account is almost nowhere possible.
