Sitemeter – Causing Blogs To Crash

There are bloggers reporting that their blogs crash when viewed with IE7. Apparently, all of them are using Sitemeter in their blogs.

As one of the users of Sitemeter, I also had the same problem. I then tried removing Sitemeter from my blog and see if the problem will be resolved. Right after I took off Sitemeter, my blog starts to show up when opened with IE7.

As to what is causing Sitemeter to crash websites using it is not yet clear. And at the moment, the only solution to prevent your blog from crashing is to remove Sitemeter. This means, you won’t be able to monitor your traffic for today. Alternatively, you can use other tracking tools such as Google Analytics.

UPDATE

Check TheWeblogZone later for updates about this problem. Darren of Problogger.net has already sent a message to the Sitemeter Administrators.

Hopefully, this problem will be resolved soon.
