Remember when I told you that Chris Pearson, the guy responsible for the Thesis Wordpress Theme, is doing some great improvements for Thesis? Well, Thesis 2.1 is now out and it has all the features of a great Wordpress theme you don’t wanna miss.
Apart from the current features of Thesis Wordpress Theme, Chris Pearson listened to the Thesis Community and gave in to their requests. Here are the added features of Thesis 2.1.
1. Improvements In Key Usability Areas
- Quickly edit links on posts and comments.
- The author’s name in bylines are now clickable.
- Optional category link display in the headline area of each post.
- Unprecedented control over tag display.
- Archive display options (i.e. titles, content, or excerpts).
- Customizable “click to continue…” text for post teasers.
- Navigation links on single entry pages.
- Finely-tuned gravatar control.
- Tons of new theme hooks.
- Also, the options panels have received some treatments that make them more intuitive to use.
2. Multi-media Box Improvements
Another great feature of Thesis Wordpress Theme 2.1 is the changes made to the Multi-media box. With Thesis 2.1 you can now hyperlink your rotating images from your updated Thesis Options Panel. Also, no matter what server you’re on, the image custom field should perfectly work for you.
3. Unprecedented SEO Control
Thesis 1.2 lets you use the new meta custom field to write specific meta descriptions for every post and page on your site. Moreover, you can leverage the category description field to manipulate both the title and meta tags on your category archive pages. And for the first time, you will be able to fine-tune your SEO without the need for plugins or manual template editing.
4. New Subscriptions Widget
With Thesis 2.1, a subscription widget is added that lets you publicize both your rss and email subscription in your sidebar. Just click Widget section, a sub-tab of your Design and look for the Subscription Widget.
Of course all the features that were added in Thesis Wordpress Theme 1.1 is still incorporated in Thesis 2.1 [i.e. customizable layout (1, 2 or 3 layout), customizable font and font size, title tag constructor, improved navigational menu, new supported image aspect ratios in the multimedia box (4×3, 3×4, 3×2, 2×3, 5×4, 4×5, 16×9 and 9×16) and improved post and page-specific CSS classes].
Before I forget, when you purchase a copy of Thesis Wordpress Theme, you will have access to future Thesis updates 100% FREE. Plus, you can also have access to the active Thesis Community for customization tips, troubleshooting and more. You don’t usually get these benefits from other Premium Wordpress Themes.
What more could you ask? I’ve used Thesis for nearly 4 months now and my decision to use it for my blog has been very rewarding. Get yourself a copy of Thesis and experience it yourself.
